Nick Saban's Latest Walk-On? A 6-7, 250-Pound Tight End

It may seem that Nick Saban had a less than ideal offseason. Every one of his offensive assistants left as he was recovering from the beatdown that Dabo gave him in the national championship. Although, the recruiting was, as usual, great. According to 247Sports composite, Alabama ranked #1 for the class of 2019 recruiting. That ranking didn’t even account for the big walk-on commitment he got from TE Richard Hunt:

Not a big deal. Just a 6-foot-7, 250-pound walk on. Just Alabama things.

Outside of looking a lot like Andy Samberg, Richard Hunt has a glorious quasi-afro going on. He’s going to walk into Alabama Alpha Phi in September and the girls are going to be lining up for a chance just to speak to the man. Also, Richard Hunt is the perfect name for a guy with that hair.

Hunt didn’t start playing football until his senior year. I don’t know how a 6-foot-7, 250-pound man from Tennessee doesn’t strap up the pads until his senior year of high school, but his reception/TD ratio is phenomenal through just 1 year of football:
