We Have No Football Today, So We Return To The MLB
Alright, we had a great weekend in football, going 11-4-1, but there is no football to bet on today. That doesn’t mean we take the day off. It just means we have to return to betting baseball. It definitely loses some juice after having non-stop football for five days, but alas, we are not quitters. We are not going to cower in the face of a light slate. We will rise to the challenge and we will embrace baseball. Most importantly, we will continue to win.
Cleveland Indians (-135) at Los Angeles Angels
The Indians are still very much in the American League Wild Card hunt and need every game at this point in the season. Los Angeles on the other hand is well out of it and have lost ten of their last fourteen. The pitching matchup tonight also favors Cleveland. They send Zach Plesac to the mound, who admittedly, has had his struggles this season at times. Jose Suarez for Los Angeles, however, has been disastrous for the Angels. They have lost nine of his last twelve outings and his ERA in L.A. is approaching 7. The Indians are the better offense with the better starter and motivation on their side.
THE PICK: Cleveland ML
St. Louis Cardinals (-150) at Colorado Rockies
This is another matchup with a significant edge on one side. The Rockies are dead in the water this season, while the Cardinals are trying to hang on to the NL Central over the Cubs. Michael Wacha is another guy who has struggled at times this year, with an ERA of 4.98. But again, he is so much better than Colorado’s Chi Chi Gonzalez. Gonzalez is 0-6 with a 7.29 ERA. The Cardinals offense has scored eight or more runs in three of their last five games. I fully expect them to batter Gonzalez heavily in the thin air of Coors Field. I love St. Louis to get the job done here tonight.
THE PICK: St Louis ML
Let’s enjoy some mid-week baseball and cash some tickets, baby!
