BlackJack's NFL Banquet of Winners Presented by FanDuel

Alright baby here we are, NFL Sunday. This is what we wait for all week. College football and the MLB playoffs have been a sweet and savory appetizer, but this is the main course. This is what we have been salivating over. Yesterday was not a great day, 2-3-1, by any stretch of the imagination. I mean, it wasn’t losing another 10.3 units, but that’s for another day. In any event, now is the main event and its time to settle in and grab the wins. Grab as many wins as we possibly can, that is the name of the game, my friends. So let’s do it.

BUT. Before we go any further here, let’s chat for a second. If you live in the beautiful states of New Jersey, West Virginia or Pennsylvania and you are betting anywhere other than FanDuel, what are you thinking??? FanDuel is now offering new customers a risk free bet up to $500 when you use the promo code STOOL. That’s right, a FREE bet up to $500 for new customers when you use promo code STOOL. It just doesn’t get any better than that.

NFL WINNERS:

NFL: SEP 29 Redskins at Giants

Arizona Cardinals at New York Giants (-3)

I like this game a lot. We get a lot of factors colliding that work in our favor. First we have two very bad defenses. Then we have a west coast team traveling east in the Cardinals. Next we have Saquon Barkley and Evan Engram returning to the field for the Giants. All of this sets up very nicely for a little early double play for us.

THE PICKS: Giants -3 AND Over 49.5

Tampa Bay Buccaneers v Los Angeles Rams

Los Angeles Rams (-3) at Atlanta Falcons

Honestly, this line is giving the Falcons too much credit. They have been getting too much credit for a couple years now based on past success and the names on the roster. The truth of the matter is their coaching is less than spectacular and their defense out and out stinks. New Ram Jalen Ramsey should help cover the Falcons outside weapons, and the Rams should score at will. Also, they are exceptionally good at traveling east under Sean McVay.

THE PICK: Los Angeles -3

Baltimore Ravens v Miami Dolphins

Miami Dolphins at Buffalo Bills (-17)

I’m a Bills fan, and I don’t think they can cover this line. The Bills haven’t been favored by this many in a great many moons. I know Miami is awful, and make no mistake, they are awful. But still, Buffalo’s offense is not great and lacks big play capability. Also with Ryan Fitzpatrick back under center, the Dolphins should be making a stab at passable. I just think this is too many points.

THE PICK: Miami +17

LA Chargers at Miami

Los Angeles Chargers at Tennessee Titans (-2.5)

The fact that the Titans are favored here is utterly insane. I said in the pre-season they would be better with Ryan Tannehill than Marcus Mariota, but even with that switch, they are simply lost offensively. The Chargers are talented and under achieving, as we are accustomed to seeing from the Chargers. Still, they are a better team than Tennessee.

THE PICK: Los Angeles +2.5

NFL: SEP 08 49ers at Buccaneers

San Francisco 49’ers (-9.5) at Washington Redskins

The Redskins barely defeated the woebegone Dolphins last week and now face one of the toughest defenses in the NFL in the undefeated 49’ers. This does not shape up well for Washington. I also think there is added motivation for the Niners to want to win this one for Head Coach Kyle Shannahan who used to be the OC in DC. It’s a lot on the road, but Washington is not good.

THE PICK: San Francisco -9.5

Philadelphia Eagles v Minnesota Vikings

Minnesota Vikings (-1.5) at Detroit Lions

The Vikings are playing excellent football right now. Their running game is dominant with Dalvin Cook looking awesome, and Kirk Cousins has sparked a little bit of a passing attack in the last couple of weeks, involving Adam Theilen and Stefon Diggs more often. Detroit has been pesky and competitive this season, but they are a little banged up and they don’t stop the run very effectively, which is what Minnesota does best.

THE PICK: Minnesota -1.5

Philadelphia Eagles v Atlanta Falcons

Philadelphia Eagles at Dallas Cowboys (-2.5)

This game is a tale of two teams going in opposite directions. The Cowboys started hot and have faded over the last three weeks. The Eagles started slower and are getting healthier and more confident. Doug Pederson said they are going to Dallas to win the game. I believe him. Their secondary and WR core is getting healthy and Dallas is going the other way with critical injuries to WR’s and their offensive line. I also think that team may be souring on Head Coach Jason Garrett.

THE PICK: Philadelphia +2.5

Alright, let’s cash some damn tickets, baby!
