The World Series And The NBA Both Tip Off Tonight, Let's Go

Listen, I’m raising my hand and admitting for the world to see that I am cold as ice right now. Unfortunately, for those of us who gamble on a regular basis, we are all too aware of the highs and lows. Sometimes you’re riding a heater and you can’t lose and sometimes you can’t buy a win. Right now, I’m cold, but the only way out is like an NBA shooter in a slump. You just keep shooting. Last night we did manage to hit the Patriots, so that’s a start. Now today, we bounce back with the NBA opener and some NHL action. Full disclosure, I’m not playing Game One of the World Series, because the line is bonkers. I’m not laying -200 or a run and a half with Houston and as much as I want to take Scherzer +178 or so, I just can’t go against Gerrit Cole right now.

TUESDAY WINNERS:

Winnipeg Jets v New York Rangers

Arizona Coyotes (-110) at New York Rangers

The Coyotes are undeniably hot. They have won their last three and four of their last five. The Rangers are 2-4 and have lost their last four games. Tonight they host Arizona without Henrik Lundqvist in net. Still, I like the Rangers at home. The Coyotes shouldn’t stay this hot on the first game of a road trip and the Rangers need a win. I like the home dog here.

THE PICK: New York +100

Columbus Blue Jackets v Winnipeg Jets

Los Angeles Kings at Winnipeg Jets (-140)

Both of these teams are 2-3 in their last five games, but that’s a little deceptive. Winnipeg has the talent to produce at a high level, particularly at home. Los Angeles, on the other hand, is a team on the decline. I like Connor Hellebuyck and the Jets to get the job done at home here.

THE PICK: Winnipeg ML

Philadelphia Flyers v Edmonton Oilers

Edmonton Oilers at Minnesota Wild (-120)

The Wild are not off to a good start, at 2-6 so far in this young season. They have played better offensively when at home in Minnesota, but now they have to deal with the juggernaut that has been Edmonton. The Oilers are scoring at will and Mike Smith has been excellent in net. I like the Oilers at this value a lot.

THE PICK: Edmonton ML +110

NBA: SEP 29 Clippers Media Day

Los Angeles Lakers (-3.5) at Los Angeles Clippers

I think there is money to be made this season fading the Lakers. I’m not saying they won’t win games, but they will cover less of them. Their depth is a real issue. LeBron and A.D. are amazing, but there is scant else on that roster. I know the Clippers don’t have Paul George tonight, but they do have Kawhi, Patrick Beverly, Lou Williams and Landry Shamet. I think the Clippers come out and make a statement at “home” and they play tough defense.

THE PICKS: Clippers +3.5 AND Under 223.5

Let’s cash these tickets, baby!
