Champions League Betting Preview: PSG Vs. Leipzig (3:00 PM)

There may not be a hotter soccer handicapper in the world right now than #FootyMac. No, really, there may not be.

Since Bayern won 8-2, #FootyMac has been close to unstoppable:

7-0 for a gain of 10.55 units.

Today, we are back, for the CHAMPIONS League semifinal between Leipzig and PSG. 3:00 PM kickoff. No idea if it's on TV or not because CBS has decided that they wanted to buy the Champions League rights in order to kill any interest in the sport of soccer in America. I just watch on Telemundo. Their announcers are most likely better anyways and I don't even know what they're saying.

Leipzig is coming off a phenomenal defensive performance against Atletico Madrid, limiting them to just 0.35 xG in non-penalty situations. The bad news for Leipzig is that they won't be facing Atletico's attack at 3 PM today...instead they'll be facing the phenomenal attack of PSG that features Mbappe and Neymar. Mbappe is coming off an injury sustained a few weeks back, but he is in the starting XI today.

What PSG did this year in Ligue 1 was outrageous. Averaging close to 3.4 xG per game and allowing just 0.84 xG. Ligue 1 is certainly a farmers league, but those numbers are impressive regardless.

Their comeback victory against Atalanta was brutal as someone with an Atalanta Champions League future, but they deserved to win that game regardless of their added time heroics. They dominated Atalanta all game, winning the xG battle 3.04-0.55.

I don't think we see a Bayern-Barca thrashing here, but this one could get ugly if PSG gets up early. Leipzig exposing themselves in the back while trying to get back into a game they are behind in could result in more than one or two Mbappe/Neymar fast break goals.

My final score prediction: 3-1, PSG.

Picks:

PSG -130

PSG/Leipzig o3.25 (+105)
