Week 3 College Football Betting Nuggets As You Get Ready To Wager

The beautiful SEC on CBS music is back as the premier college football conference in the country returns and we also get some GREAT news that not only the Pac 12 and Mountain West are returning but the MAC will vote and likely return also.

We are cooking with hot grease as they say and so far we are coming out smelling great. Let's keep the positive thoughts rolling. As of November 10, we COULD have every team back. Meanwhile we have another week, the first real week of football. Going forward I find it important to do a bit of deep dive into what we've seen and maybe can expect going forward to help us all try to find some winners on the board Saturday.

It's all about the trenches in football and Kentucky is superior surprisingly to Auburn. The offensive line for the Wildcats is one of the best in the country. LT Landon Young is as good as it gets upfront. That allows them to control the clock and play smash mouth football with the stable of backs they have. They continue to be over a TD dog to the Tigers, which suits them. Last season they covered 4 of 6 catching points. In those 6, they won 2 of them outright.

Texas Tech hosts Texas tomorrow in Lubbock. I have some major worries here about Tech, last time we saw them two weeks ago they got absolutely shredded by FCS gunslinger Bailey Zappe who threw for FIVE HUNDRED SIXTY SEVEN yards and 4 TD's. Houston Baptist was a 2 point conversion away from OT as 39 point dogs.  I hasten to wonder what Sam Ehlinger and that Texas offense could do. Luckily for the Red Raiders, they've had plenty of time to prepare.

Army is ranked and a double digit dog at Cincy who is also ranked... Army over the last 2 season has been sparkling when getting doubles, last season against Michigan and Air Force as 17 and 22.5 point dogs, they nearly won both and we also can't forget them the year before against Oklahoma where they nearly won in Norman. When running the option, time of possession and limiting turnovers is name of the game. My issue here for Cincy as well is there aren't a quick strike group and like to run the football as well. One last thing to ponder if your a Black Knight supporter, how does new QB Christian Anderson handle this situation? In the games listed above, they had competent and upperclassman Ahmad Bradshaw at the helm. So far though, Anderson has been very good.

Keep an eye on the Pirates of East Carolina tomorrow. No... not to win or maybe even cover the big price, but I'm willing to think they can add something plentiful to the scoreboard. Holton Ahlers can play and loves to sling it around. ECU comes back this season with a better group protecting him and his receivers are playmakers. CJ Johnson is one of the better wideouts in the AAC. The issue is they won't be able to stop UCF who makes defenses look like West Baltimore citizens when they saw Omar coming down the street. This one should be fun. Also, UCF also ran 94 plays last week, 2nd fastest in the country. ECU played with a ton of pace last year as well. Here's the issue when looking at this total.. it's moved considerably from the opening number, when betting sports for me it's important you don't bet the worst number and attempt to get the best of it. Could be the difference here.

Tulane is a favorite tomorrow on the road at Southern Miss. In the first 2 games of the year, Tulane is 0-2 laying points and both were ugly. They needed a big 4th quarter just to beat South Alabama and blew a 24 point lead last week against the Naval Academy. Now they have to pick themselves up and go beat a team that's had some hard luck so far. Last week against LA Tech, they gave up a TD with 14 seconds left to lose. Who picks themselves up this week? Hard to not believe in Southern Miss senior QB Jack Abraham at home here. The senior has had a top 15 completion percentage over the last 2 seasons. Also interestingly enough Tulane QB Keon Howard actually played at Southern Miss and was a starter from them in 2017. One play I'll be on tomorrow so far is Southern Miss +3.5
