Trysta's Teasers: Bets For The WNBA Semifinal Game

Well, it was a tale of two series. The outmanned Minnesota Lynx caught a couple of bad breaks, and were comprehensively hammered by the Seattle Storm 92-71 to get swept 3-0 in their semifinal. Playing without Sylvia Fowles was certainly a problem, but I’m not sure it would have made a difference, although certainly, the Storm wouldn’t have broken out the brooms. They just had too much depth. In the other semifinal, though, we got a decisive Game 5 on our hand. The Aces responded with their backs against the wall with their best game of the series, winning 84-75 and tying the series at two.

Tonight’s game is the deciding Game 5 and it should be more of the same, two teams that are evenly matched. The game is on ESPN2 at 7:30 EDT and the Aces opened as -4 (o158.5) before dropping to -3.5 (o158.5), the least they’ve been favored all series. The Penn oddsmakers are obviously expecting a close game. I’m not sure it will be. I think the Sun have scrambled this entire series, but the Aces have more talent, and in one game for all the marbles? I think talent wins out.

THE PICK:  Aces -3.5

Coming off a 2-0 day to right the WNBA Playoffs ship on Sunday, I’m looking forward to this game, and to a Seattle v Vegas/Connecticut final!
