Hand up, I fucked up royally last night. While perusing box scores and schedules before I put my plays in, I just plum forgot that the Oilers played the night before. Even though I watched it. And Tweeted about it. And won my bet on Edmonton. It just completely slipped my mind before I lit a pile of money on fire. Apologies to anyone who followed. Gotta remember to cross the t's and dot the i's. Moving on…
Rookie goalie Kaapo Kahkonen is back in net for the Wild tonight. He's one of two rookie goaltenders from Finland that has made a great first impression in the NHL. He's 2-1 with 2.27 & .929 vs. San Jose this year and is coming off a shit game vs. the Avs so he'll be looking for a nice rebound. Martin Jones is 2-1 vs. Minny but with 3.87 and .864. The Sharks have been more competitive lately but the Wild will get back in the win column tonight. We are taking Minnesota regulation only -0.5 at EVEN. And as per custom, we'll throw a little taste on the Wild -1.5 +170. Let's watch Kaprizov tear it up and get us a fucking winner, folks.
Good luck to all.
Friend of Spittin' Chiclets, son of The Capital District, and 17-year pro Matt Murley will also be sharing his picks here as well.
Philadelphia Flyers (ML -200, o/u 5.5) @ Buffalo Sabres
Murls Take: This bet is personal and I need the support of the Chiclets faithful! I was part of the Penguins winless streak in '03-'04 and it was miserable. Also there were other guys that you may know like Bugsy, Scuds, Orpik…the roster was not bad, just couldn't get it done. Anyway, our streak was 18 winless and the Sabres have tied it. I want this off my resume for good. So Flyers, let the 2003-2004 Penguins take a bow and exit stage left and the Sabres can have the mantle. Go Flyers! Someone make sure there is Russian gas in the locker room.
Murls Pick: Flyers 4, Sabres 3
Murley's Best Bet: Flyers three-way -130 (must win in regulation)
