KHL Championship Preview Game

KHL Championship Preview Game

Where to watch: ESPN+ 12:30 p.m. EST

Teams: Metallurg Magnitogorsk (+114) at SKA St. Petersburg (-139)

Standings: 1st Place in the East at 1st Place in the West

Magnitogorsk: 22-2 overall

Top Scorer:  Philippe Maillet- 24 games 9 goals 18 assists 27 points

Players to Watch:  Nikolai Goldobin, a Former Shark and Canuck player that has been lighting it up this year. His goals have been highlight-reel worthy.

SKA: 17-7 overall

Top Scorer: Andrei Kuzmenko 23 games 8 goals 18 assists 26 points

Player to Watch:  Mikko Lehtonen, SKA added Gusev a couple of weeks ago, and as that was not enough now they added this Finnish D-man.  The former Leaf (they could use him now) and Blue Jacket has 3 points in 3 games and logs a ton of ice in all situations.

Murls Take:

Magnit, the former Russian Super League team of Evgeni Malkin is 22-2 and has been easy cash for the $EBR crew this season. This Magnit team wins games in every way scoring a lot of goals or winning the low-scoring 2-1 games. This team will be around in the Spring when we are writing a blog about who wins the cup. SKA is a complete powerhouse and just in the last month have added 3 KHL all-stars to their line-up.  The Swedish giant in net and the rest of the SKA team live for these big games and the even bigger bonus they get for the win.  This is a must-watch game and it becomes even more exciting with a bit of cash on it.  I’ll ride with SKA today.

Best Bet:

SKA ML -139
