NHL Preseason Betting Is Like A Blind Date...It Can Go Great Or Horrible.. $EBR

Do I want to bet on the NHL preseason? Yes and here is why.  If you know what you are looking for it can be very profitable but also is a nice way to ease back into the NHL season. Preseason is a great look at some young players that could be a few years away from the show but also see the veterans playing pond hockey.

This is a blog that will have:

  1. Game and time

  2. Highlight a player

  3. Game Notes

  4. Murls' Best Bet

So here we go…. Remember this is preseason hockey so half unit size.

GAME: NY Islanders @ NY Rangers

TIME: 7:00 P.M.

Player to watch: Bobby Trivigno - College hockey fans should know the name, as he was a star at Umass Amherst and he is one of the main reasons the program went from a laughing stock to National Champions so quickly. He is a longshot to make the Rangers roster at the beginning of the season, but the 5’8” winger has been an underdog his whole life.  Bobby has always found a way to make an impact at all levels plus he is a winner.  The Rangers should give him a long look and find a spot for him if they are serious about winning.  His craftiness around the net would be welcome in a lot of clubs.

Check the game notes: This game is being played at the most famous arena and has two rivals battling. I am not sure how much of a battle it will be since it is the first game.  Does a young up-and-comer ask Reeves to tangle? I would not but maybe to get his name out there. The Rangers lineup will have a mix of some vets and some of their young players that could see time on the Blueshirts roster this season. Igor will be between the pipes and I am interested to see how he looks.

The Isles are rolling with the Vets since this is basically a home game but what style are they going to be playing under new head coach Lane Lambert?  This is a way for them to get some game legs but most on the ice tonight do not have anything to prove. Varlamov is in the net for the Isles.

I think the young players for the Rangers add the extra jump to get this game over the line for the EBR money line bettors.
