Rear Admiral's Gambling Corner: Blue Tonight, Bleu Tomorrow (Updated For Tuesday)

What’s shaking everybody? The Corner made a few bucks last week so we’re looking to keep it rolling.

I said on the show last week that the Blue Jackets are a team whose games I never bet because of the unpredictability factor. But I’m not concerned with it tonight as Columbus visits Los Angeles. The BJs were written off before the season even began due to their significant losses in free agency. Yet they’ve managed to not only stay above .500 but also stay in contention for a playoff spot as they’re just three points back of Florida for the #2 Wild Card spot.

The L.A. Kings are last in the West and 11 points out of the second Wild Card spot. It’s probably only a matter of time before they start their trade deadline fire sale. Though they’ve shown a little bit more life in the last few weeks, it’d be a huge shock if they end up in the playoffs. In short, the Kings are playing for pride and the Jackets are making a playoff push. So we are on the Columbus Blue Jackets -110 for 550 to make 500 and -1.5 +240 for 250 to make 600.

Tomorrow night, Les Habitants are visiting Motown and we do like them on the road vs. an inferior squad. However, they are playing tonight so there is no line available yet. Once the line comes out after the conclusion of tonight’s game, I will update this blog with the proper odds as well as my action. So stay tuned. But just the one play for tonight.

****UPDATE****

OK, odds and starting goalies are out. We got Charlie Lindgren vs. Jonathan Bernier between the pipes. The Habs are 7-8 or -160 on the money line, +150 on the puck line (-1.5), and -106 on the 3-way line. Nothing changes—we’re still on Montreal and we’re taking them on the 3-way for 1060 to make 1000 and the puck line for 500 to make 750.

Good luck to all.
